Dr Christopher Bray

CBOriginally from Worcestershire, he obtained his first degree (M.Chem. 1st Class) from Wadham College, University of Oxford, during which time he conducted an undergraduate research project with Prof David M. Hodgson. As a T. C. Keeley Scholar of Wadham College, he completed a D. Phil with Prof Hodgson in 2004 supported by a CASE award with AstraZeneca.  He then took up a post-doctoral position with Prof. Gerald Pattenden FRS at the University of Nottingham, working in the area of natural product synthesis.  He remained in Nottingham where he was appointed as a Teaching Fellow in Organic Chemistry in 2006.  Since August 2007 he has been a Lecturer in Synthetic Organic Chemistry in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences at Queen Mary, University of London.

 Emily Adams

EAEmily obtained a degree (MChem) in Chemistry with Forensic Science with Toxicology from the University of Hull. She spent a year in industry working for Unilever within the Safety and Environmental Assurance Centre looking at chemical contaminants. She conducted her final year project with Dr McKenzie looking at potential natural drug delivery agents. Outside of the laboratory, she loves travelling to culturally diverse countries.  Funded by an EPSRC DTA grant, Emily’s PhD research involves the diversity oriented biogenesis of natural product like molecules.

 Fabrizio Minicone

FMA graduate of the University Milan, Fabrizio gained his Laurea Triennale (BSc) and  Laurea Specialistica (MSc) both with First Class marks in 2006 and 2009 respectively.  He conducted a research project in the Department of Industrial and Organic Chemistry under the guidance of Prof. Bruno Danieli and Dr. Alessandro Sacchetti concerned with the synthesis of some of the rutacea alkaloids.  Funded by an EPSRC project grant, Fabrizio’s current research involves the development of new synthetic methodology and natural product synthesis.

Nicky Willis

NWNicky graduated from the University of Manchester with an M.Chem (2:1, Chemistry with Industrial Experience) in 2009.  During his third year as an undergraduate, he undertook a twelve month placement at Piramal Healthcare UK (Huddersfield).  After graduating he spent 3 month working as a research assistant at Carleton University (Ottawa, Canada) concentrating on computation design of TACE inhibitors.  Funded by an EPSRC Prjoect Grant, his current PhD project aims to develop a total synthesis of a spiroketal containing natural product.
